HOLIDAY MIXER 2023!
A festive evening was enjoyed by 80 Pickleball Club members and guests Saturday, December 9. The evening opened with the Prescott High School Chamber Chorus, led by our own Erin Johnson, offering spirited holiday music to a standing ovation. Following a delicious meal of salmon, or pork chops, or vegetable ravioli, teams assembled for a game of holiday trivia. The winners were Team Red Snowflake. Door prizes were awarded throughout the evening. Congratulations to the Social Committee for another outstanding event. |

DINKFEST2--
Another fantastic social tournament was held at the courts Saturday, November 4. Cintia Jarrett and Keith Stonehocker managed a well-run event where 36 players vied for top honors. Only dink shots were allowed as doubles teams tried to score the most points in 11 minutes. Following the tournament, 48 players and guests enjoyed refreshments prepared by Chef Matt and his staff and winners were announced as follows:

SUNSET CHAMPAGNE PICKLEBALL POKER SOCIAL TOURNAMENT
The courts were filled with PLPC members Saturday, October 14, who played pickleball to earn playing cards. In this tournament the best pickleball players don't necessarily win. You play for cards and hope to put together the best poker hand at the end of three games. After the tournament players and guests gathered poolside for champagne and yummy scrumptious hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Matt and his staff while enjoying a beautiful autumn evening. Rob Rudman and Ron Scott hosted another successful, fun tournament. Those with the best poker hands were--

ITALIAN NIGHT SOCIAL
Buongiorno, ciao, prego—just some of the greetings heard among the 80+ Pickleball Club members and guests as they met for a Social on Wednesday, September 27, on the Terrace at the Club. Enjoying a perfect late summer evening, attendees enjoyed an Italian Countryside Dinner buffet prepared by Chef Matt and his staff. Lucky members walked away with door prizes and one lucky winner received half the pot of a 50/50 raffle. Grazie to the Social Committee for planning another fun event. |

9th PLPC Club Championship
The 9th PLPC Club Championship was held September 15, 16, 17, with 2023 Champions being crowned. The names of the winners appear on the permanent plaque inside the Athletic Center. The championship concluded Sunday, September 17, with 2023 Champions being crowned. There were 61 participants who competed throughout the weekend with friendly competitive play.
This year’s champions are:
Women’s Singles: Jenny Douglas
Men’s Singles: Mike Cushing
Women’s Doubles: Dawn Oaks/Sarah Marsh
Men’s Doubles: Gordon Jennings/Mike Robbins
Mixed Doubles: Dale Sebanc/Keith West

The 10th Prescott Lakes Senior Pickleball Tournament hosted 230 players from all over the state, neighboring states, and as far away as North Carolina the weekend of August 25, 26, and 27. The Club at Prescott Lakes proved again to be a gracious host with the help of nearly 60 members of the Prescott Lakes Pickleball Club serving in various volunteer positions. The Prescott Lakes Pickleball Club was represented in the tournament by 41 players. Congratulations to all for another successful event. And a special mention to our medalists as listed below.

A hot July morning found the Pickleball Club hosting its first 3-in-1 social tournament Saturday, July 22. Three different versions of Pickleball were played--Bull's Eye, a game where extra points were added to the score when the pickleball bounced inside a target chalked on the courts; Rally and Tally using modified rally scoring, and Regular Ol' pickleball played under normal rules. After the games, around 60 players and guests met in the Falls and Fairway rooms for delicious food and prizes for the winners. A huge thanks to Todd Tipton and Genanne Davis for organizing the event, and to all the volunteers who helped with scoring and demonstrating rally scoring.

Memorial Day weekend 2023 started with 40 PLPC members vying for Dinking honors at the 9th annual always-popular DinkFest held Saturday, May 27. The entire game was played in the Non-Volley Zone. Only dink shots were allowed. Fifty-eight players, guests, and spectators proceeded to the Grille following the tournament for appetizers, prepared by Chef Matt and his staff and graciously served by Kelli Welch and her crew. The following prizes were awarded:
1st Place: Angie Sorensen and Jennifer Kramer
2nd Place: Daniel Lawson and Sandy Danielsson
3rd Place: Jim Robak and Barbara Smith

LevelUp Camp
You may see improved level of play as PLPC members became LevelUp campers when they participated in an intensive two-day instruction on Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 15. The goal was to improve their pickleball skills by one level. Thanks to Jim Robak for coordinating this event.
