Round Robins: Speaking on behalf of Chair Cheryl West, Jim Slack thanked the volunteers who assist in managing the Round Robins. He added that meticulous records of round robin tournaments are kept to assist the Ratings Committee.
Social Tournaments: With an emphasis on fun, five social tournaments were held in 2022 each followed by awards and an After Party at the Club. This year’s tournaments included Shamrock Top Hat, DinkFest, Slim Pickling, Sunset Champagne Pickleball Poke, and DinkFest2.
PLPC Club Tournaments: Jim Slack described the competitive tournaments put on by the Pickleball Club including a Skill-Level Tournament, the Senior Pickleball Tournament, and the PLPC Club Championship. The names of winners of these tournaments were displayed on the screen.
Referee Training: Jim Slack thanked Randy Oaks for this year’s refresher course for referees which covered all the rules changes by USAPA.
Lessons: Lessons Committee Chair Frank Klejmont reported 155 students took lessons so far this year in a total of 41 classes. He thanked the talented instructors for giving their time. Input from members led to a restructuring of lessons, which run from March to October.
Play Schedule: Rob Rudman informed members that plaques have been placed at each court explaining the Play Schedule.
Social Committee: Chair Michele Logan thanked the members of the Social Committee for their work in hosting three events this year—Cinco de Mayo, Oktoberfest, and PLPC Holiday Party. She encouraged members to wear their name tags to social events.

Summary of Discussion and Suggestions:
v The PLPC is the 2nd largest club within a club at Prescott Lakes.
v The 2023 Fall General Meetings is scheduled for September 23, 2023.
v Committees needing new Chairs: Ratings Committee, Social Committee, Lessons Committee.
v Use of courts throughout the day shows growth.
v A PLPC program, similar to the Prescott Lakes Ambassador program, to help new members get involved.
v An orientation to help new members learn about pickleball rules, the court schedule, and feel comfortable on the courts.
v As USAPA modifies pickleball rules, it would be helpful to have the new rules explained. Marian Lafayette volunteered for this.
v Increase in the number of courts. Jim Robak, former member of the Board of Governors and current member of the Athletic Committee, explained it is always a question of land and money. He added that numbers dictate how the money is spent.
v A thank you to current Board members for their service.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Genanne Davis, Assistant Secretary
